I have designed this collection for Masaya; a brass-furniture brand specialized in traditional brass-casting process, which will be launched at Maison & Objet in January 2018.
Fig Armchair was inspired by the form of tree branch and vine, I have deconstructed the lines, then created simple design but still maintained uniqueness and elegance of the material.A generously wide seat provides luxurious comfort.
Main structure of this armchair is formed by the lines that spread out all over to support cushion.
The designer has used bee wax to create various size of lines which continuously connected to each other. He also applied “lost wax casting” process to create an extraordinary slim brass design which is different from any other finished brass in the market, giving the elegant and comfortable feels.
The armchair frame has two unique colors, Black-oxide and Brushed finish.
In this design series, the designer also brings in the elegant teak-wood tray from Deesawat, Thai famous furniture company, which attached to the armrest for more functional use.
